Swing Repertoire for the Singing Guitarist w/ Sylvia Herold
You already know a few jazz chord-shapes; now immerse yourself in the joys of swing guitar as you play songs beloved by singers. Build chord vocabulary and flex your guitar muscles as you learn gems from the Great American Songbook. In this session we will cover a few holiday classics, songs the jazz musicians love to play (Real Book), and a beautiful ballad or two. Come prepared to play a solo (if inclined) or sing lead as we dig deep into this satisfying style.
In her three decades of teaching swing guitar Sylvia Herold has developed an innovative method that gets people playing musically and effectively from the first class. Herold¹s performance credits include Cats & Jammers, Wake the Dead, Euphonia, The Hot Club of San Francisco, Sylvia Herold and the Rhythm Bugs and The Sylvia Herold Ensemble. |
